My friend Landylachs has told me today is Suikoden Day.
I only managed to play Suikoden I in the past… and for some reason, Lorelei was my favorite character. Though I don’t remember her doing a whole lot in the plot. Or if she was even all that strong. I just remember repeatedly going to the tavern/inn she was located in and trying to recruit her, not knowing the secret was that I had to reach a certain level in order to get her to join….
In general, I like badass chics. :)
HAPPY (belated) SUIKODEN DAY it’s luca blight again
waaahh the beastrune effect is a nice touch!
Now playing… ♫ Suikoden Opening themes ♫Which is your favorite Suikoden Opening?
Happy Suikoden Day! For Suikoden day I wanted to do this Ipod gif template circulating in tumblr. Please correct me if I put the wrong title/singer/composer. Also does the opening of II don’t really have a specific title? I couldn’t find the title. I fail as a fan. I kinda teared up while making this because I really love this game so much and just watching the opening songs can bring so much nostalgia. Really, I’m so thankful I’m a fan of this game.
Happy Suikoden Day everyone! It was another fun year. :D
I actually really love the story of the Flame Champion and Sana. Not just because it was sweet the FC gave up his power to be with the woman he loves. The FC is admired by his comrades and dear friends, despite having such great power his only wish was very human and simple - to be with Sana. And yes, Sana is so pretty when she was young.
Not only that even if most Tenkai never actually said this stuff like the FC, you knew this is exactly what most Tenkai stars feels, IT ISN’T JUST HARD BEING LABELED BUT HAVING PEOPLE LAY THEIR DREAMS ON YOU IS HARDER. Tenkai stars or heroes fight for what they love too but because they have the power or a greater strength compared to others - people placed their hopes on them and they carry even more burden compared to others.
It ain’t easy being a hero, You’re just like the others too. You fight because you have people you hold dear, You fight because you’re a human who can’t allow injustice against your people. But what makes you different is having a greater power. Heroes or the Tenkai stars are human too - they also have simple wishes.
Tir just wants to be like his father, Riou wants to be with Nanami and Jowy, Thomas just want to find a place where he really belongs, Chris questions the things she fights for, Hugo just wants peace for Grasslanders, Geddoe questions the meaning of his immortality and life, Lazlo is just tired of Snowe’s bullshit I mean he just want to patrol the sea and eat, then Frey will be just happy to see his sister well but I kinda like what to think that Frey does want to show people that his existence despite being a man in a monarchy for women he can still contribute something to his country.
These people only fight for what they hold dear too but sometimes they even lose what they love while fighting like Tir. Kinda remember Cleo’s question on what Tir actually gained during the time he fight in the war. At least for the other heroes when they ended their wars they were reunited with the people they love - I pity Tir.
So, yeah. It ain’t easy being a hero. It ain’t easy saving the world or a country. It ain’t easy running an army at the age of 15 lol. It ain’t easy keeping up with the heroic image to give hope to the people around you.
PRINTSCREEN WAS MY BESTFRIEND DURING MY PLAYTHROUGHS back then. I was never able to post it back then because I don’t know how Photoset works..wtf. that was like my 3 or 4th yr in tumblr. XDDD
Being a Hero isn’t always happy and sunshine. Suikoden says it.
This doujinshi hurt me.

Happy Suikoden Day!! Today marks the 10th year anniversary of Suikoden IV!! I haven’t made a new Suikoden costume in YEARS so I figured, why not make one of my favorite characters from IV for the anniversary?
I loved Ted since Suikoden I, but it was definitely a treat seeing him show up in Suikoden IV~ and like the procrastinator I am…I started this costume on Wednesday, and SOMEHOW finished it by Saturday.
The top three photos are by Gilbert Chen, and the bottom image is from John Conley Photography, with some editing by me.
Share the Suikoden Love! If you loved any of the game, check out the Suikoden Day group on Facebook! It’s absolutely amazing to see so many fans of the series together.
